Lisa C. Withrow APRN, NP-C, ACHPN, co-founder and certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Palliativity Medical Group in Bedford, New Hampshire, has been named the recipient of the Third Annual Ira Byock and Yvonne Corbel Award.
The award, presented by the New Hampshire Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHHPCO), recognizes an individual, team or organization in Northern New England who has demonstrated innovation and collaboration to help deliver the best end-of-life care possible to New Hampshire residents.
Palliative Care focuses on improving a person’s quality of life throughout the course of serious illness, or after a life-changing injury. Palliative care is different from hospice, and patients often receive palliative care along with other medical treatments as an extra layer of support.
Withrow, who is also a provider for the palliative care program at Elliot Hospital, received the award at the NHHPCO Annual Meeting in Meredith, NH. Dr. Mary Braun presented the award and said of Lisa, “She has been practicing palliative medicine in NH since the very earliest days of the field and leading the way the whole time. She has mentored many, many clinicians and generously helped almost all of us at one point or another in our careers.”
